I had a UK one 250-260 bhp or there abouts & the acceleration was awesome.

Mid to top range you notice the transmission losses though, I had my ass handed to me by a CTR. Although the CTR had a charger fitted

Great fun cars for little cash.

Try for a UK turb, not a WRX (import). I think I paid around 700-800 when I was 22.

I must admit I love the look of the classic scoobys and the last one I was in was quick but if I was gonna buy one it would have to be the P1.

The Uk ones are pretty pants tbf but can be modded very easily to make them go quick.

Just insured mine for £550 about £200 cheaper than my last import!

As for speed Colin got it spot on really..below about 280bhp you notice the power dropping off at the top end.

I'd agree that a standard UK classic would struggle to keep up with a half decent hot hatch or decent diesel! There only about 215/220 brake. The first L reg import WRX's had 240..then 260..then 280 so even an M/N reg one (260) with no mods is a very quick car...and 99% of scoobys have been modded.

I payed £2800 to insure my first scooby and it was worth every penny

Not holland is LHD, its mainland europe isnt it! I think its just you could import/export them to holland due to low taxes or something.

Only scooby ive have every been in was a 1995 impreza wrx import. Look standard nd very red which was nice, just had de cat exhaust and air filter with a stupid DV.

Was an auto though. Wasnt that quick tbh due to the stupid box. Brakes we apauling. No other way to describ them!

How much slower are the autos than the manuals?
