I don't carry nothing as I'll only get into trouble. If someone trys to take my car and I smash them across the head and possibly kill them then its me who will end up in a cell for most of my life. I'll make an attempt to escape but I won;t be using weapons to protect a car thats fully insured.

Got a steering lock in mine and thats about it. Whether I'd have the guts to actually twat someone round the head with it is a different story though

Never a truer word spoken, which is probably the case for most people who carry these objects for self defence.

I prefer the more subtle approach of just pulling there head in the window, putting the window up, then driving off. Or just smashing there head in with the door.

Bullet Tooth Tony taught me the above.

Fuck it i'll join in, i have the wheel brace in the door pocket, just in case i ever need it. Also, all this talk of smashing people round the head, fuck that, why risk potentially killing someone when you could just kneecap em instead, better results with less risk. Fact remains though, 'self defense' counts for nothing, you end up worse off than the person causing the shit in the first place.

A long story short, when I was 17 I stupidly had a breaker bar in my car and a lad who was quite a bit bigger and harder than me at the time blocked the road in front of me and dragged me out my car (all from an argument when we were at school) I managed to grab the breaker bar and hit him round the head with it while he was trying to choke me out.

I got arrested and was facing a GBH charge and was fucking shitting myself for a while, luckily a good solicitor and it being my first offense resulted in it being dropped to assault occasioning ABH (fuck knows how) and I got a reprimand and a final warning.

Never had anything in the car again, learnt a lesson the hard way

That's the only possible outcomes.

The guy is either still harder than you and he'll come back for you another time or he's only acting hard and he grasses you in.

There's never a situation these days that you get out, smack him about a bit and that's the end of it.

harrisp - if someone is 'choking you out' you are within the law to act to defend your own life by any means. Justifiable and reasonable force is a phrase used a lot.

As far as the law is concerned any form of strangulation or choke is classed as life threatening.
If someone is capable, you can render another man unconscious in 3 seconds. You have those 3 seconds to defend your own life. Once your 'out' if they hold on for to long then it can be curtains or other complications, brain damage etc

This situation has come up a number of times, a lot against night club doorman. The out come has all ways been the same. The person defending themselves against the choke, get off with no further action.

You are massively unlucky i feel to get anything brought against you!

Probably a good idea for Ben though with the amount of road rage incidents he gets into.

That, and the fact he can't phone 999
