So the coke head gets to be the captain ? Didn't Fabio see the assault and the four game ban he recently just got

what a farce. Also surely Gerrard should of been captain as he was vice captain when JT had the armband, what does that say about Stevie me

Rooney shouldn't be captain. Never lead from the front IMO. I'd be happy with Rio or Gerrard.

I think JT as a defender is overated but he's a good captain and I'm sure his place in the team is still safe so I'd have let him stay captain, Capello knows his stuff though and can handle egos and FA's so I still think England will be alright.

Haven't read most of this thread, so i'm probably repeating it.

But they made a few good points on 5live this morning, that Captains aren't really that important any more, it used to be Manager, Coach, Captain. You've got loads of people to do stuff now.

The only thing a captain needs to do nowadays is get a message across on the pitch, and show pride for your country.

It's not really a major thing for Terry to be dropped. He must be getting a lot more shit from his family that i'd hope he'd be more concerned about than having an armband.

I don't think Rio should of got it, but as vice-captain he should be the one to step-up I suppose.
