Starter Motor?
Mine went, but would still turn the engine over - slowly. Replacement fitted and it worked straight away.

Can you describe the time leading up to it not starting, anything unusual happened?
Does the starter motor turn as normal? Are the headlights as bright as normal?

car was absolutely spot on when jack had it, driven everyday, he lives down the road from me and i know jack and the car very well. headgasket was done 4/5 months back and hasn't missed a beat since, i think the fact you've driven round with a hole in the rad and no water hasnt helped but again..jack never said to me it was losing water or anything...hes also a numpty with cars and would have asked me straight off if it was.

Would still bump start. I think you should pick up the phone and get it taken for repairs. I wouldn't trust you with dirt, let alone a socket set.
