not seen the vid but impressive of the phantom by the sounds of it!

weight makes big difference also!

in the van i came up against focus rs and we had a play, was a fun race on motorway, rolling starts each time no matter the situation the van pulled away from the fucus with ease really, that was always gonna happen cos i have 3-400kgs less weight with same power! put the vx220 with same power next to van and it will beat that with ease!

came across a bently gt once with the van, they have around 500hp and van was happly keeping up, again cos it has half the weight, so sort of needs half the power.

obvously once u get into big speeds then areodynamics come in to it etc!

By the sounds of it I would rather been in the phantom as it would be lovely and quite and I could just keep my foot on the gas whilst my butler makes me a brew

i followed him for while then blasted past, he chased and i eased off let him overtake and get along side then foot down and pulled away from him! did it few times with he, he was smiling :-)

i would have been gutted, was brand new reg car and not long after they had come out.......... looked like he had his teenage son in the passenger seat...... think he may have been asking his dad y they were being overtaken by a van! lol

all good fun :-) van had a meesely 281bhp then........ got 30hp more now.............lol

fords aren't fast, am sure new BHP isn't the same as old BHP.

i estimate 150bhp from the 80's is the same as 220bhp nowadays.

this is why i keep up with scoobys, VXR's and ST's

Maybe a weight issue.

As much as that would have been immense to watch... I don't think I'd be gutted if I was him. To afford one of them in the first place, you'd normally be able to afford a Lambo to deal with fast cars if you so wished

gutted? he was sitting in a luxurious powerful car, immense quality interior and nice and quiet, while you in your van had ringing in your ears and fearing that the panels would fall off.

highly doubt he was gutted, probably just worried about losing his license.

only the bloke in the carlton stopped to talk which says it all really.
