Could it not just be that the forums you are asking for votes on, some of them that don't 'know' you as such could be voting for the other guy?

Just because the link is on a forum doesn't gaurantee everyone that looks at it will vote for you.

Tried a couple of proxy sites but it seemed to disable the poll, the buttons became inactive

It is strange that since Adam posted this last night, I have gone up quite a lot, but he has gone up by almost the same amount too

If I had gone up a lot last night, and he had noticed it today and so maybe posted on a forum somewhere and then went up...I'd understand it a bit more
