Yeah, the amount of machines connected to the internet with viruses etc is massive, a good portion of these are used for DDoS attacks.
Read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botnet
No one website has enough resources/bandwidth to handle a fuckton of connections/users, you can scale your operation to however big you can afford but at some point you are going to reach your maximum. We are talking about 10Gbps floods, which is alot for any server/server-farm to handle at the moment.

Its quite weird how your computer might be part of a botnet without knowing.

This all seems a bit far fetched. But what I want to know is, why make it so public? Surely with the power the US has they could have done this in whispers, making it look like a totally independant attack.
What's an example of some of the more sensitive information leaked?

I knew as soon as he was arrested that it was going to be for a sex related crime, honestly are people that fucking stupid to believe this shit?
I see the American defence secretary who was in Afghanistan on the news last night and was informed of the news that he had been arrested, a quick smirk and followed by "not a bad thing" like he was getting one up on people that like to know what the fuck their governments are up to behind our backs.
These people have far too much power but it will never change, until people realise that the real threat to world peace is the USofA the worse things will get.
Imagine now that the oil runs out tomorrow. You can be damm sure America wouldn't give two shits about any of us and would go about securing every oil field they could get their hands on without a care for anyone else. We need to start getting firm with them, it wouldn't take much to put them back in their place.

TBH since the US are stock piling all their oil to say "haha" to everyone when it runs out, I bet people will be thinking "haha" we don't run our shit on crude anymore, whilst they run around in their pushrod, carb'd, V8 buicks.

See what confuses me, why don't manufacturers make hydrogen powered internal combustion cars, not stupid hydrogen fuel cells, which make electricity.

Aye there was something on Scrapheap challenge and the guy did that, basically a high power wire running through a big jar of water. Sooked the Hydrgen off it and they used it to fire a tomato cannon, they showed you it giving a constant flame before it was all plumbed in though.
