There's a business case to finish the house - so do that anyway.
Then while you're doing that, find a 100k job in Monaco. If it's available before the house is finished, lose money on the house.
I often wonder what it would be like to sell everything and do something else. I have a friend from uni who does the same to me - scouser but moved to London, similar money, always out on the lash, river side pad, programming financial systems, proper high fly cutting edge career. And he asks me why I have a little flat and deal with teenagers all day. Ultimately I'm not brave enough to do it and the feeling usually passes after I realise how lucky I am with what I have.
Plus it's largely poppycock that just because someone else has done it means anyone can. I couldn't step in to his shoes, job would need to be available for a start. Then I would have to get it. You can't just decide to get a dream career. It's not obvious from your first post but I would bet there's a fairly strong correlation between his success and the amount of work he's put in getting there.

My life could be shit, stressful job, another job when I get home, single, live alone, no kids, debt, busy friends but I choose to see it for what it is - amazing.
Sound like a twat though ^^
And this isn't my thread, sorry Rich

Very honest though, atleast you're having a good time which is the main thing. You have your boys toys that you're able to buy and fettle with, you could be in a far worse position.

I wouldn't feel too bad Ian, if you're on similar money as someone in london programming financial systems, you're probably on a good whack - combined with northern cheap prices. Seems pretty 'sound'.

No no, I mean my mate is on similar money to Rich's first post, ie. 100k or thereabouts after bonuses and perks.
I'm on Liverpool teacher wages which don't really compare.

This is the part which pisses me off; he ripped my disertation off at uni whilst I was out one night and we both got called for Plagurism - I successfully proved it was my work from the off but somehow he escaped getting thrown out even though literally 50% of his dissertation was my work.
We both came out of uni with the same degree but he's a massive stoner, gets carried by everyone around him, always has, always will - he's that kind of person. He's nto a hard worker and nto a particularly good Naval Architect; the only thing in his favour is he's a really good 3D designer (read not engineer); he's good at making photo realsitic designs and making things look pretty although nto necessarily good at actually making things work.
of the 10 or so companies he's worked for since uni, I know he was sacked from two for being useless. All I can think is that the boss of this new company is a stoner and they got stoned together and that's how he got the job.
I'm not bitter at all

Mate's been offered a job in Costa Rica. Salary totes up to equivalent of about 3 times what he's on here plus they'd set him up with a huge pad, car, driver, maid (and his salary here isnt bad at all).
More I think about it, more I'm tempted for a life overhaul.

And a stoner boss can run a company which can afford six figure salaries? Does that really add up?

Read that book Paul_J has been pimping and instead of asking does it add up you'll be asking how it could be any other way.

If he is genuinely that useless he'll be found out. If not then he must be good enough to do the job, simples.
