Been using TotalMini and that seems pretty popular and get a response to answers quite quick and they seem fairly friendly

I tried Mini2 but its far too quiet and overmoderated.

Mini Torque is the main one I use, but they don't like standard wheels (as I've found out with my latest thread!) don't like wheel gap and want you to track it

I tend to browse rather than post and learnt everything I needed to over there.

And yes yours is an R53.

I had an original supercharged s.

Absolute nightmare - if it had not of been under warrante it would have cost me almost £12k in repairs over three years.

I sold it as soon as cover finished as I was terrified of something else breaking.

Main problems I had were

Cat disintegrated twice in a year
Manifold was fucked
Steering was stupidly noisey, then it had some massive breakdown while I was going rather quick round a bend - nearly killed me.
DSC, traction control ect was crud - used to cut the engine out when you were trying to nip out at a junction - if you turned it off you just sat on the spot with the wheels spinning.
Used to eat Tyres and breaks - the runflats were simply too dangerous to use in the wet - I got rid of them instantly
Various rattles and problems
Windscreen also cracked twice for no visable reason
The main problem was a major oil leak that developed - I washed the car on the saturday, filled it with water and oil - drove to birmingham and back - went to use it on the sunday and it pulled strange, then an almighty knocking noise started - engine was fucked, oil warning system was faulty, engine temp gauge was faulty .. they tried to wriggle out of the repair due to me having a non genuine backbox on - nearly went to court.
Brakes, tryes and seats were not up to scrath for what the car cost imo

Terrible service department - stupidly expensive parts- my renault is far better screwed together

I wouldnt if I was you ..... having said that I have no experience with the new gen minis so they might have improved - and I did love driving the car - still enjoyed owning it - just hated the constant hassle
