Ben
Spence as much as I love alfa's it needs to be reasonably cheap to run and insure

yes I have a loan coming through to buy it, the plan is buy a car for 5k that's modern, cheap and easy to run but nice, tidy up the corsa, sell it, and pay off credit card with profit.

Because then you have monthly payments to take into account.

When I had the Vectra C, to clear my debt and pay off my cards I bought a Corsa B diesel

As long as I've budgeted for it what's the problem? I want a newer car, the corsa is approaching 100k now so value is dropping off. I have looked at clio 1.5dci's as well but the 1.2 turbo is appealing to me

Fair enough if it works out in budget, but to be 'money saving' it defeats it

I never really said it was money saving though did I? I just can't afford to throw money away on gas guzzling government funding motors

Yeah the work one is 1.7cdti, must be an 80 or something though as it's pretty slow. It's a good car just something about it is a bit meh. I've driven an astra 1.7cdti SRi in the past and from what I remember that was okay.

Jen's got a 1.7 CDTI 100bhp version. It goes pretty well tbh. Sounds like a tractor compared to the Audi tho!
