On June 30, 2010, the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) called for the FDA to ban Yellow 6. The CSPI said, "These synthetic chemicals do absolutely nothing to improve the nutritional quality or safety of foods, but trigger behavior problems in children and, possibly, cancer in anybody."[13]

Are you honestly trying to say that Irn Bru causes cancer? If so you're an even bigger pleb than these Eurocrats.

It's a stupid idea and baffles me that these people feel the need to meddle in stuff like this, is there honestly nothing more important for them to be dealing with? How about the fact that about 5 countries are subsidising the rest of the EU?

And before you say it, they have used the term "possibly" because ethically you are not allowed to perform research on humans to deliberately develop cancerous cells (obviously) but they have given doses to animals which have developed cancer.

Its the same as the UV debate and skin cancer, you cant actually subject a load of humans to UV and see if they get cancer you have to work on reasearch on animals, chemical analysis and statistics.

Well they may have done but back then they didn't have databases and information technology. The NhS spends millions treating smokers. What about Irn bru victims?

Not everything you read on the Internet is true Davey. Whilst I'm not saying it isn't bad for you compared to not drinking it (it's loaded with sugar and carbon for one) I doubt these claims hold any sort of water. Unless it's some sort of delayed onset of pancreatic cancer that will fell 50% of tland

@ Jonny

Davey, pipe down, look at all the above links, biscuits ffs, and fucking blowjobs

If it was really that bad it would have been stopped already.

They obviously introduced a limit in the amounts of colouring and decided the level it was set at, which is over double what is in irn bru.

Oh, and you better had get back to work, you'll only earn £173 today now

I dont really care what you want to drink BUT I do strongly believe the lack of nutritional content of these products an what dangerous they may pose should be clear.. These massive companies just make up the rules and have been feeding us all sorts of chemicals for years.

Its common knoweldege that the plastic used to make bottles contain and disperse into the contents a chemical that is very close to female hormones which has been linked to the decline in fertitlity all over the developed world.

You may call these people scaremongers or plebs but the issue is governments are scared to set a precident because these companies have got so much money and trying to fight them in court would cost millions.

Of course they care. If their drink killed everyone, how would they turn a profit?!

I would honestly hate to live in your paranoid world.

I'll stick to just living life how i see fit, cancer gets the most healthiest of people. Also seems to not get the old guy who smoked 30 a day since he was 13.

Absoloutely ridiculous to not do things you enjoy because you MIGHT get cancer.

Dont drive, might crash.

So what about all the professional footballers who go out drinking, and yet are somehow are still top athletes playing at the highest level of the game? Surely if they fill their body with crap and toxins they should be playing in the pub leagues

One of the worlds greatest footballers Zidane even smoked

It's just the same as all these a glass of wine helps prevent heart disease, and a bar of chocolate gives you a 2foot cock, bollocks
