Not quite the same; you have the choice to 'unfriend'/hide someone on a social networking site whereas you don't have any real influence on what you read in a newspaper or the programming on TV. I still stand by my rant though, i don't understand why some parents on social networking sites feel the need to contiously post pictures of their kids. Same with animals, don't understand why someone needs to post pictures of their horse every five minutes

The other side of the coin, I know someone who set up an account for their child so they could share kids stuff with other family members and not clutter up the moaners feeds
