There's a couple of pricks who get there early and I call them pricks because I'm usually on time or a few mins early and the like to draw attention to the fact they have been sat there for 2 hours by some statement like "oh you decided to turn up" or "what time do you call this" er my starting time you fucking prickwad

Don't people work different hours? Or does everyone do the same hours?
Just seems a really old fashioned thing to do 
Where i work there are 3 shifts working at once. One is 6-3, one 7-4 and another 8-5. Goes off for the start of work then lunch break then end of the day.
Makes it easier than standing at the clock machine waiting for the time to tick over to clock off!

I'm always at work 15-20mins early so I can have a cup of coffee.
But that's because I mostly work in London at least 3 days a week and to try and get there on the dot is impossible. And the other days i could sometimes have a 130 mile 2-3 hr commute so i have to factor in traffic.

Nothing wrong with being Air Crew. Especially long haul with a good airline.
To be honest its the easiest job I have ever had. Take a 7 hour flight, we work for about 4 hours and the other 3 are split between the crew, half on rest for 1.5 hours (in the bunks generally) and half on duty, then you switch. 24 hours in New York hitting the shops etc saving a fair wedge of money on clothes, electrical things etc then off you come home.
When I joined the airline i was on check in, they closed the base and i took redeployment. Get paid a very good wage and work very little in all honesty so its win win.

Think I'm meant to work 8.30-17.00
Yesterday I did 7.00-15.30
Today is 7.30-13.00 and then I'll log on for a couple of hours at home.
Work from home the rest of the week and it'll be about 8.15-16.00

arrive between 8.30 and 9.30 dependign on how tired i am, whetehr ive been to gym and whether i have any meetings/urgent work. due to start at 8.30 but I work later every evening so never an issue unless we are uber busy (even then I struggle)

i don't clock in/out though, that's a bit too old fashioned.

funny you should say that gilbo... i have just started weight training and me and my best mate (warehosue manager) were discussing how much workign in an office affects your fitness and strength etc., compared to someone working ina factory or warehouse etc etc

i remember talking to jake (iirc) about this a while back and he said your body/muscles adapt so the heavy lifting/being on your feet all day doesn't actually give you the same benefits after a while.
hopefully he can come in here and confirm/start another discussion on such subject.

Used to arrive 20-25 minutes early to get all my equipment ready for the shift (order picker in warehouse). When I was arriving 5 minutes early there was no decent equipment left.
Change position now, and work in office. Clock in at 8-10 minutes before shift, put my stuff into a locker. By the time I get to the office its almost start of shift. leave on the dot though

Usually in 10/15 mins before i want to start.
Can do
9-5:30
8:30-5
8:4.30
Do the last one as trains are quieter which makes a big difference when you're on them for what can be more than an hour.

Hate when people ring us just before or after shift change! Takes at least 10 minutes to log in and open all the programs on out old PC's...

hours are 8-6 but usually get in for 6:30, that hour and a half i get nearly half my workload done as the phones arent going off in my ear every 5mins, then spread the rest over the day so i dont stress out,
obvioulsy people say im nuts but you get used to it
plus im only 10mins away from work so probs get up the same time as people who have to travel miles to work anyway
