Wycombe one had hardly any new games (some suppliers aren't supplying them), and all their preowned were on the floor in piles.

Has no one mentioned that they're actually up for sale?

quote:
GAME, the popular but troubled UK retailer, has put itself up for sale in an effort to avoid administration. GAME has put itself up for sale, as it desperately tries to raise cash to pay a quarterly rent bill which is due in a fortnight, according to the Sunday Times. As I reported earlier in the week GAME is currently having a huge fire sale to get rid of stock, and there’s apparently quite a few bargains to be had.

I once bought a strategy guide that was priced at £12.99, the woman behind the counter scanned it and it came up as £0.01, so rather than doing anything about it she just charged me 1p

Could probably buy the whole company for less than the cost of a PS3.

Not as ridiculous as it sounds when you hear of companies like Rover and Comet being sold for £1.

but taking on the debts too so whilst only a £1.00 changes hands to the former owners, the cost to the new owner isn't that little.

Dad bought an American company for $10 but took on the debts/mortgages for buildings etc etc

Just hope I can find something worth buying tomorrow night.

I'll probably buy some shit game and then someone takes them over and their stock is replenished.

I got Batman: Arkham City pre-owned.

I'm half way through Arkham Asylum

Nearly bought Battlefield 3 for the ps3 so I could play online with everyone but then remembered I'd have to purchase some sort of online pass or something gay.

Gay, I went in the other day, nothing new had been reduced, plenty of cheap pre owned though. Bought a pre owned ps3 in game station but according to that list that appears to be still open.

It's not a huge surprise. These guys have always been expensive buggers, and when you can get a game title online, free deliver, and it's around ten pounds cheaper, why would you want to even consider buying at Game.
