You 'should' be filling in a self assessment tax return. Also think 100k would be over a certain threshold which means you have to do something extra.

And it is added to your usual income and taxed accordingly at the relevant rates as with PAYE.

Hopefully I'm not spouting shite, can't remember exactly as haven't studied tax in a year or so.

you are right mate £100k and you need to do a SA return there is also a number of different things that will make you fall in SA and need to fill in a return

Hmmmm

Im clearly paying myself too much - maybe i should lower from £800 to £650 for something?

Then you take dividens?

OK I just double-checked my last pay slip. I pay myself a salary of £589/month (not sure why I thought £587!). No tax or NI is deducted, and then as you say dividends after that.

I believe up to £30k in dividends/year is also not taxed - so potentially I can pay myself through salary and dividends, £37k and not pay a penny in income or dividend tax

Isn't the VAT threshold about £60-£70k if you are trading too?

I really don't mind paying tax aslong as I have the option to use state schemes should I need to.

It was £35000.01 before wasn't it?
