the ped stories are just never ending lol.
i once had a student who told me that he builds banger racers and has done since he was 10 years old, but when i asked him to split a ball joint he asked if he should disconnect the battery first because it is "electrified"
the same student also told me that his brother had a "tuned" lexus is200 which is immense, then one day his brother picked him up and can you guess what he was driving? you got it, a bright yellow hyundai accent 1.5

WTF.. and the ammount of people who say they drift round corners when there car's are front wheel drive astonish me! seriously if you can STAY OUT OF GLOUCESTER AT ALL COSTS!

Lying is fine and totally acceptable if you lie that your car is actually LESS powerful than it is. Stand and watch the confusion on their faces. Priceless

I used to always lie...
1.0 12v badges so they'd all be like that sounds insane for a 1.0litre so I'd reply yeeah big induction kit... (Read tb'd c20xe) paha!

Just like the guy who tried telling me his mate had a corsa that runs 10secoind dead at pod. But it was broke cause corsa header tanks aren't strong enough? so I couldn't see it and I'd been to most shows and rwyb's that year and never heard of it, just told him he was blatant chatting bollox.

I've been thinking about de-badging the 'VRS' on the car and tell them it's just the 1.4 with the vrs body kit.

1.1 badges on my vts but most people knew it was at least a 1.4 for the kit so I put vtr badges on.
Funny when people had a debate about it, one saying its a vts for the wheels, another saying vtr for the badges

The best one i've ever heard was a 30year old fat ginger bloke in a 1.1 saxo with tints, lexus lights, huge back box and stickers down his doors claim his car did 130mph because "it had a 1.4 cam". He refused to believe that my entire 1.4 saxo would be quicker than his I gave up listening shortly after that.

There was loads of this sort of stuff when we were like 17-18 coming from middle aged men who have crap cars with paint interiors and a baby seat or two.

The most annoying thing is when you actually know about cars and their inner workings and someone asks you to look at a problem for them, only for you to then be told they know how to fix it.

in fact i need to call a company about having the diesel re-mapped in the next few weeks. hopefully they won't try and bullshit me with numbers as I'm not really stupid as some people that think their passat chipped up to 400bhp.

I've said some of these before...
"If you bore out a 1.6l petrol to a 1.7l it becomes a diesel"
"petrol doesn't burn...its used to push air into the engine"
Lupo GTI with off the shelf supercharger..."yeah will do a 10 second 1/4 mile"
