I'd say they have.
Start location is white line, end location is whatever place you have to get back in or have to stop again after those lights, which will be known by the people taking part.

so they both lined up on a white line and started at the same time? doesnt look like it to me, both parties didnt even know each other let alone in communication with each other to determine a start or end

I was replying to Sunz and his traffic light comment.
There is definitely no form of racing whatsoever going on in the original video.

you dont have to have a finish line to determine a race? you can be along side another car on the motorway, both same gear both go on the third horn and see who pulls away faster, thats a race and funnily enough it has no finish line. One will still be quicker then the other though , no stripped out pumas, quaife stickers or german racetracks anywhere involved.

I reckon a lot of in-gear racing will have similar/suprising results tbh
like vibrio in his punto Gt against an aston martin racing from 50mph to 70mph

Then you get people driving so slowly on a proper race track in a ford puma thinking they're the king.

Iv not been in a race when iv been on track either, Iv not ever been in a proper race tbh, but having been on track and seeing what levels you can push it too, i can say that you will not be able to get anywhere near racing level on a public road

Your definition of racing isn't the same as mine Steve.
You are basically saying you have to be in an officially organised race on a track.
I don't agree.

no one is disputing that, however you can still have a race without being on a race track. A race is not just over distance, it can be a race against many different things.
i could have a race against someone at work in putting a jacket on, dont need to go to the nurbgeringetgn ring for that?

I raced a focus ST for a while, just straight lines, but its a nice feeling when someones boots it away from you and your just sat behind them

on public roads i usualy compare to it as a pull, so either a motorway pull or carriageway pull as you are racing but there is no finish line..

For the record i had a "race" with a 355 in my old let corsa .. i can confirm they are not as fast as you would assume. i then went home to my mum and dads to tell of how a young boyracer beat an old one.

Nic not being rude or anything, but why does the starlet in the video have a nice sound, accelerating, the turbo spooling and dump valves etc.
and your corsa sounds all bangy and war like, is that a screamer pipe?

Tbh i like the fact that everyones missed something kinda important so far. The bloke sat in the drivers seat IE the driver, is also the same bloke who's holding the phone which is used to video the whole thing
