That's seriously one of the most idiotic things you have said, most of the time you can only quote other people, I see why you do now.
Oh dear, reading the rest of this thread must make you feel like a right twat

I'd do it.
Quite clearly anyone on that sort of money is paying the best people to ensure they come out the best.

Please explain that then ?
And nope I don't feel like a twat, your question was pretty much a rhetorical one.
It's obvious it should be the same amount but at the end of the day we need to continue to build society and people who are taxed £75k a year for example still take home more then the average person and can live with a decent standard of living, more decent then many people can hope to achieve in their life time.
They live a decent standard of living thanks to what the taxes have created in the Uk, a safe place to live, free health care to an extent, environmental services, transport, law and order etc, is what your paying for on the bigger picture.
The World isn't all about ones self, how much money one has.
I don't have a problem with Jimmy Carr using a loop hole, I just find it's greedy, I would give the money to charity that I saved in the loop hole, maybe he does !

if you earn a million you pay
£478,000.00 tax
£23,381.04 national insurance
£501,381.04 Total Deductions
How does that encourage people to be successful?

youre right, fuck earning a million and only having half a million left to live on, best stick to earning £7500 a year and not paying any.
a big contributing factor to the shit in greece is tax avoidance

either you realised your mistake or didn't add the top two figures together to make the total. Either way

Say you earn 30k a year, you wont pay in your life what someone earning a million pays every year.
Why are you punished heavily for doing well?

you arent you pay a portion of your wage as tax. if you dont like it dont live in the country. everybody is in the same boat and without tax money the country wouldnt be able to function.
if ive had to pay tax and struggle on a grand a month why should some millionaire get away without paying his way? its not our favourite outgoing, but tax is a fact.

There's no way the vast majority of people in that position do that.
Its all shares and benefits, very much doubt anyone actually loses £501k in deductions.

But why should they pay a larger percentage?

One thing, who the fuck does David Cameron think he is singling out one person who does this? He's clearly using him as a scapegoat to cover up one of his many fuckups AND there are probably hundreds, if not thousands of people using schemes to pay very small amounts of tax.

Yep, and take your business, employment and massive contributions to the country with you.

no, thats tax evasion... a completely different thing and very very illegal. its also a cultural thing in greece and hasnt suddenly come about due to austerity, just magnified.
shame hes been hounded out by morons who think like sunz. hes done zero wrong other than use his brain.
however, in fairness, said schemes shouldnt be legal on the basis that they essentially purely exist for the purposes of evading tax. expect to see the rules tigthend shortly.
