Varies with the jobs.
Sometimes a 30 mile/45min drive to the offices, sometimes a 24hr+ trip to somewhere not exotic and shitty.

Average for me is now about 30-40 miles (probably about 45mins) each way per day, used to be double that at my previous company.

Office - 2 days a week - 25 miles, 90% motorway. Enjoy my drives in, gives me 30 minutes or so to chill
Work from home - 2 days a week - Nice to have that flexibility
Client site - 1 day a week - Mainly down in London - Take the train down. Usually takes 2 hours. Something different I guess so don't mind that much

Same.
In my old job I used to walk 3 minutes around the corner and i was there.
New job is about 18 miles each way, and I really enjoy it.
Gives me chance to wake up / wind down.
Cost isn't really an issue, obviously it's an unwanted expense but driving normally/sensibly makes it bearable.
