There was speak of moving evra to left wing and coentrao going left back and vice versa. Ashley young is hit and miss, nani is poor, kagawa and well beck aren't left wingers. It'd be a big gamble, I've never seen evra play there but apparently he used to!
Edit - fml my ipad has gone all nic Barnes on me with welbeck

A search says we are likely to miss out on him.
As for position we don't need. Evra won't last forever, maybe they want someone who can fill his position straight away. I rate Buttner but I don't think they see him as Evra's successor. Fabio is supposed to be better than Rafael, so if this is true, maybe he is set to eventually replace Evra. Another theory could be the flexibility of Coentrao.

I can't get my head round this whole Morata to arsenal potential deal? If I was an arsenal fan, I'd be pretty annoyed. It's definitely their best chance in years to win the league yet AW seems to lack any ambition. They have the cash, why not go after a proven goal scorer rather then someone with potential. I must admit, I haven't seen much of him, I believe he's only played a handful of games this season so do they actually rate him at all? It seems odd for arsenal to want to go after him. Maybe arsenal fans have a different view?

Jermain Defoe's move to Toronto has been confirmed.
Will continue to play for THFC until 28th Feb I think, which is the date he leaves properly.
I think we need another striker to add competition to Adebayor, Soldado & Harry Kane so I'm hopeful we give one of the Championship goalscorers an opportunity. I'd love any of Jordan Rhodes, Charlie Austin, Danny Ings or Sam Vokes.

They're all British though? Or will you sign British players now AVB has gone?

Just me being hopeful / speculative Cavey, although an English manager would favour british / English speaking players maybe. Been rumours about Shane Long which is strange considering he isn't pulling up trees at WBA.
As for Defoe, cannot doubt his contribution to Tottenham over the last 9 years (gap in between) but he has seriously tailed off. The majority of his goals in the last few season have been against Europa nobodies with a few cameo appearances in the PL. (Since 09-10 season really)
I think a move to Toronto is good for him, the MLS is up and coming and the manager there is Ryan Nelsen.
My most recent memory of him was the start at home to west ham in Oct (0-3). Absolutely useless that day, 0% effect on the game.
Could've still done a job in this country though. Maybe someone like WHU.

I'm not sure tbh. They have the cash so why not go after Rooney, Mandzukic, Diego Costa? But I mean actually make a serious offer for them, not like the silly Saurez shannigans! I can almost see it now, Morata will come in, be hit and miss (let's face it, anybody could score in that team)' they fall to 3rd but fans will be happy even tho Wenger bottled it IMO by not trying to sign a world class striker!

Nahki Wells joins Huddersfield for a club record fee from Bradford. Massive transfer which will hugely effect Bradford/League 1 and Huddersfield in the Championship!
Hudds finally spending the Jordan Rhodes money

Quite small really. We got £1m for Richard Cresswell back in 97 and the same for Jonno Greening in 98.
Jesus wept was that really 16 years ago?!

Crewe got 5-7.5m for Powell last season, and I'd say Wells has done more than him so far. Saying that, from the little I've seen of Wells, I'd sy championship is his level, whereas Powell went to united reserves/loanlist

He's a quality player, and you'd think if anyone was going to give youth a chance it'd be Moyes, especially with how poor their midfield is. He's done well at Wigan too, scored a few in europe
