Thanks mark! It's really putting me off doing an xe lol so many fiddly bits!!

Well by 11:30pm last night we had old engine out new engine in with my bits swapped over and a new fanbelt as mine was perished! Woke up at 7 plugged everything in as we couldn't see anything last night and did 2 oil flushes with halfords crap connected everything up new filters and plugs in! And it's no worrkkyy it's turning over fine just not sparking by the sounds of it! Only got to try it for a couple of minutes as had to rush to work but will hopefully have a fiddle on Monday! Thinking we've just missed a plug or something as its got fuel pressure :/

I'd say you've missed something, if it's not catching I'd be inclined to look at the crank sensor first

On mine it's on the front of the block bottom left, not sure if yours is the same should plug into the loom somewhere along its way

The crank sensor on my gf's Corsa C Z12xe is at the back of the engine. Bottom right of the engine when looking at it from the back.

Right, started by swapping my crankshaft sensor, which is at the side of these engines on the left by the airbox, didnt change anything then found out it wasnt starting because i hadnt changed ecu So swapped them over this morning and was getting close but was quite starting! Took plugs out to find only one of my BRAND NEW halfrauds bosche 4point spark plugs was firing! One has snapped by the plastic, another is wobbly, and the other isnt working! Brilliant! So found the old plugs lying around stuck them in and it starts but it missfiring like absolute shit! Could this be because of the old plugs or do you think i need to change the black rail that runs along the top of them?

sure the leads are pushed on all the way? if it's intermittent I'd take a guess as to say the leads aren't on properly/have a break

Yup im sure! maybe the one on the engine isnt working well so might just swap it over and use mine! Need to go get some new plugs first! Think its because i left these ones out in the rain

Whack on your coilpack leads and decent plugs. If that doesn't sort it it will be sensor/wiring related more than likely

The old plugs should've been fine tbh. Sounds like a problem in the loom somewhere.

It's a move in the right direction, god knows what other wires were cut/damaged on the old engine loom.. We know yours is good! Hopefully your icv makes a difference too.
