Be interesting to know what would happen if Johnson scored that half chance...

From Fiver. Made me lol.

Portugal take on Spain tonight in a battle for the heart and soul of football which will see the Spanish tiki-totalitarians prevail by half a goal to nil. They will therefore earn themselves the right to watch Howard Webb prance around for 89 minutes on Sunday, and maybe use the other 60 seconds to notch the 0.000000000000000001 of a goal required to secure the Henri Delaunay Trophy, which they'll lift just before the sport stops forever. But while all this means Cristiano Ronaldo will this evening depart the arena in hot tears, having failed to keep any of his attempts to belabour the ball into the net from 55 yards in the stadium, he'll nevertheless have retained one sliver of his dignity – on account of having at least displayed the ambition to do a soccer goal

Just read that, and he takes a half volley on the turn from 25 yards that sails half way up the stand

Spain just need to keep passing it around, portugal won't be use to pressing like this and will get tired/out of shape

Cunning plan. Put him on to do nothing then bring a midfielder on to do his job for him, luring the Portugal defence into a false sense of security

If Spain win this thing 4-6-0 is going to be the new trendy thing to do. Replacing the 433/451 trend.

Am I the only one that wanted Spain to play with a fucking striker rather than this 6 midfielders nonsense?

Isn't it funny how beautiful football has become the most boring way to play over the last 12 months

Also. Conmentators defending pepe. This is what happens when you employ commentators who only ever what premiership

Pass pass pass pass pass snooze. They won the WC with a lone striker. Del Bosque is just being a douche.

I dont mind nice football if there is an end product, but Spain seem happy to just knock it around all game. They could have won their games by much more if they had just been more incisive and taking a shot on but its not surprising when they are playing with no fucking striker.

Difference between Barca and Spain, Messi.

Can see Portugal tiring now though, Spain will probably dominate and Ronaldo or Nani will hit them on the break

Anyone else get annoyed by the stupid stance and ridiculous heavy breathing Ronaldo does before he hits a freekick into the wall/over the bar?

Looks like hes shit himself.
