One year with a option for 2015. Good luck to the James Hunt of the modern era. Wish I was paid €30m to leave Ferari then rejoin a few years later. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Kimi will punch Alonso before the end of next year, or throw an empty bottle of vodka at him.

What's Alonso going to do when he's behind his teammate now? He might actually have to try and overtake him

Theres no way kimi will be a push over for alonso. Hes there to win and fight for the wins. IF the new engine is half decent they are the 1s to best next year surely

So hard to tell with any certainty but I don't think RB will be the team to be at. Given that they have for the past several years utilised exhaust gases for aero benefit better than any other team, with the new regulations eliminating that I feel they will be hit hardest, like they were when blown diffusers were first outlawed.

Merc will hopefully be right up there, it could be an engine formula next season and they usually make decent power plants, coupled with their huge budget and improvement this season I expect them to be fighting.

Even without the best car, it will be hard to look past them for WCC as they are both drivers that seem to be able to magic up points from nowhere.

Neither are brilliant qualifiers IMO, when their main rivals (Hamilton and Vettel) are - so the 2014 Ferrari will need to be shit hot in races, but these drivers seem to excel at podiums from 7,8,9 on the grid.

Depends how good the best car is. If it's Brawn-esque then no matter how good you are you won't be winning races.

Agreed, but with RBR potentially needing to nurse Ricciardo for a year (I might be wrong, he might be lightening off the blocks) I would imagine that a strong driver line-up may overpower even a dominant car in terms of the WCC.

Merc and Ferrari would be the teams to beat in that department, based on drivers - but either team can produce a dog of a car or engine ofc.

I'd like to think/hope that any form of domination next year will be engine based - meaning there will be a couple of teams at least with the same advantage.

Of course aero will still be massive, as the whole rear-end packaging/exhaust is changing.

I really hope over the next few years we get back to the good old days of "this weekend is a Ferrari track and next weekend is a Renault track" and stuff like that, the engine freeze has pretty much brought all of the powerplants into line and they might aswell all be using the same customer engine.

I do like Kimi but for me Alonso is the best driver on the grid

The stats say Massa does the most overtaking in F1, followed by Webber and Hamilton

Lewis has made the most overtakes per race (2.1) of any driver who has raced over 100 races.
