Screwed in and glass back on. Need to paint a screw that's visible black, then adjust them! I still ideally need. A 12v power supply so I can line them up on a bench.

Then wire em up and fit them.

Very good job on the lights. Proper dedication!

I can kind of see what Faz is getting at regarding the indicators. They do look very white next to the dark headlamps.

The lights still look 15 years old

LOL Really Alan? I thought i take aaaages. I STILL havent done my steering wheel as it has outgrown my talent.

Headlights just need wiring and I am being lazy as I need to find a couple of small parts that although insignificant will have a large effect on the build. I just do a bit here and there.

if I ever get a car that needs working on agin, i am getting a second car

Well.....one of the reasons I had a go about your respray is that it wasn't shown off in the way I would have done it, ie nice location & shining etc. I actually like the colour!

This is because I'm seriously anal/OCD and have to do pretty much everything in a certain way

Anyway there no way I could replace the badges without taking pics of the old ones on a dirty car and then taking the badges off, then cleaning the life out of the car, then fitting the badges...then taking pics

Really wish I had the extra time and money to do what your doing mate. When you have kids any extra time goes out the window

Also if you can do that with the lights then the steering wheel will be no problem man! Have you sorted the SMG gear readout thing?

I can imagine mate, I am planning a wedding and i have no time Kids must make you tired also.

I am struggling with screw position, measurements and method. I dont have the skills and dont have the money to experiment as I only have one spare wheel lol.

Lights are quite easy tbh, just like a jigsaw. Been a long time coming, I cannot wait to get them in as the ones I have in now massively let the car down as they are all pitted and green and manky.

SMG is not sorted but got a bit further with the diagnostics, looks like either the control unit (of which the display has its own one ) and if its not that the instrument has failed, which is ideal as I can salvage that out of another set of clocks easy enough.

But I also now have an air leak which is causing my idle to be a bit whacky and its munching through fuel like there is no tomorrow.

Got 9mpg on way home the other night

I remember spending hours servicing/fixing/cleaning my cars at the weekends, now I'm lucky to get it washed I'd rather spend time as a family though can't really describe it but you'll know what I mean soon enough.

Regarding the air leak do you know where it's coming from? Get a can of smoke like they use for smoke detectors maybe? That what people use on the 1.8T vag units to find boost leaks. Can't imagine there's many places yours could leak air from though

I know roughly where it is, its the place they always get leaks. The ICV and associated breather hoses all go manky and crumble. Im awaiting a price to order them and will fit as soon as I get a few hours of daylight when it isnt snowing or raining

Yeah could have been worse, could have been a messy or crap job. Its all relatively easy to get to and will improve MPG, idle and looks.

Was going to change them later this year anyway but this has made me hurry things along.
