If your going to buy a turbo kit for anything at least get it for a 2.0 8v engine. For the same price as a decent working LET engine you get approx 220 bhp. You need the kit, an FMIC, the pistons and some LET rods. Works out just over £1k.

na its just i work with jap cars ross, and without being biased the reliability and build quality of there turbo cars is alot better than the,vauxhall,renault,fiat, and say ford turbo engines....

obviously they all need to be maintained in accordance to how there driven but in a nutshell they do break less!

mind you as with some of the engine makes listed above like ford for instance there probally all quite old now and probally been thrashed around abit!

I forgot that VAG engines break down all the time.

they only work as well as they are treated.

air mass meters, NoX sensors, lambda probes, dual mass flywheels......

oh yeh and the 1.4/1.6 golf cambelt tensioners are also good as are the engines, we had a standard 1.4 owned by some lady that threw a rod
