Actually agree with you, Bent is a better all round player imo which is why im so shocked AJ made the reserves.

yeah, aj to me is def a prem player but with bent scoring more goals this year at that higher level, it boggles me that aj has gone before him.

Aj scored more than bent in his prem season, and before anyone starts, yes a lot were pens but he earnt them all. He is a tough player to cope with, pace will cause problems but its irrelivant as he wont make final squad anyway

Oh my fucking god!

Theo Walcott? Sorry but he has played about 10 senior games in his life and he is in our World Cup squad ahead of the highest scoring Englishman in the Premiership. Wonder how much Sven is getting paid for that inclusion? Darren Bent isn't even in the back up list, utter shambles!!! No doubt Theo will be a star, but not yet. It's not as if we are desperate for strikers. We have a few good ones. Defoe isn't good enough, Bent is easily better than Defoe, its obvious, he's scored twice as many goals for starters!

Hargreaves? Sorry WHO!!! Fuck off Sven with picking this over rated nobody.

I'm pleased he picked Lennon though, he's going to be a star.

Soooo disappointed with this squad.

Out of the named players in the England squad I would think Peter Crouch has to be the happiest of the lot.

There are very good financial reasons why he was not played this season. Playing him would have cost the club a fair amount of money in transfer fees and it would have made no difference to the end result.

I think reason for Young not being in is that Carragher can play right back if need be, so you have him and Neville, which makes way for an extra, midfielder or forward, but he's not took advantage of it.

Hargreaves inclusion - Joke

I'm happy we are taking walcott and lennon though!
your so right, if henry, ruud and rooney came down a divison for a seaon theyd score 50 each easily...

and owen hargreaves is more versatile than most english midfielders.. and the games hes played for england hes always done his job well...

Yeah, he's done well at staying too deep, being caught out in the middle and making silly ball greedy runs, losing the ball and then undoing his team mates hard work, I see where your coming from

No matter what way you look at it, you're snookered without owen and rooney, 2 world class strikers. He's prob thinking to himself the rest are just run of the mill premiership players so ill bring along an unknown quantity that might surprise a few people.

However, owen hargreaves

Owen Hargreaves IMO is not great but he has been in great form recently if you watch the Bundesliga... Walcott is a gamble but watch you all suck his plums if he does well!!

Andy Johnson what a joke the man didn't even score as many as Bent and he played more games and in the Championship!! SWP gets what he deserevs for being a scumbag Chelski twat (should have waited and fulfilled his destiny of joining Arsenal) and Defore, well unlucky really... a good squad in my opinion!!

Crouch offers somethign no other team has and he holds the ball up better than anyone i can think of!

Yep, its alright he can enjoy spending it down the local boozer this summer watching players like Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon

Wenger basically admitted a while back that one ofthe reasons for selling Vieira was to finance a move for SWP until Chelski heard about it and paid way over the odds for him and ruined his career (mind you Joe Cole started off the same way and look at him now altho he has changed his game a lot IMO)

from my point of view henry and walcott are same sort of players. there is no way you can drop henry so walcott didnt get the chance to play. if god forbid henry does leave then walcott will come straight in to the frame.

People say how good Crouch is at holding the ball up...which is all good and well, but given his position would he not be better considering putting it in the back of the net!?, what concerns me is a national holiday was nearly declared when he after about 8 months he scored for Liverpool and our main striking responsibilities are placed on his shoulders along with a kid Sven picked up in Toys R Us?

Oh dear....

fuck off.

You have obviously not watched many of Crouch's games this season. His support play and ability to hold the ball up for the midfielders to come through is one of the main reasons Gerrard has scored so many this season. And if Rooney is out then this could be the next best form of attack during the WC.

come on, the world did stop when he scored..which in essence is his main purpose...what happens if he has a similar drout as his early part of this season? If Rooneys out...he's the only option... which 'strikes' fear into me

no pun suggested or implied...
