shocked

Not at the result, as we deserved that, but for how poorly the defending was. Over the last few years we've always had a solid back line but last night was shocking.

The only posisble good point is that you could say none of those were first team players who would normally start in there, but Hyypia should of done better.

Ah well, will have to beat you in the league here now

Nice generic joke there although it doesn't really work given the fact we had alot of our reserve side in the squad ansd starting

Just read most of this thread...why the blame on Rafa?

He put a side out that should of beaten this young Arsenal side, there was enough experience down the centre of the team to handle them IMO. He was just let down by some very poor displays by the likes of Dudek and Palette in particular.

If he'd of put a full strength side out that won he would of been blasted for not resting players by some, and now he is blasted for not putting one out...he had no chance of getting it right.

And as for not taking the club forward... You only have to compare this team to the last seasons of Houlliers and you'd see how much better we are as a squad.

imo Fabregas dominated the centre of the pitch and was pretty much involved in all of Arsenal's attacks. Song looked crap at first but after he got his lucky goal you could see he had more confidence and looked a lot better.

Fabregas was

Walcott and Denilson didnt do much and they were meant to be your two best younger players...still though you have some good players coming through there.

Walcott lost the ball a lot as did Song. They didn't play all that well especially in the first half.

I hope Baptista isn't the type of player to only play well in smaller games.

TBH I havent been impressed with him at all. He reminds me of Heskey in some ways - big, fast and powerful but doesnt really use it. The amount of times he was just brushed last night and went down complaining (such as for the freekick he scored).

It might give him some confidence to go on and score a few more, but if Madrid want 15m+ for him then thats a joke!

I agree, there were however times when he just ploughed through the liverpool defenders last night. He should do that more often.

The free kick was pants imo. Any goalkeeper should of been able to save that.

Yeah, Dudek should of done better with a few of the goals IMO and doesnt deserve his place in the team, especially now he has made mistakes in the last 2 games. Id rather he gave a kid a chance in the last game than him as was shocking in the FA Cup.

Also it was too early to put Paletta in any team, he needs to go out on loan for some experince.

is a free agent at the end of the season anyway. IMO just get rid now and put this Italian kid we've just signed on the bench from now on.

Yeah was gonna suggest that or say we should bring carsson back but it's difficult with second choice keepers, as the keeper is in the backbone of the team normally so carson might not want to come back and sit on the bench.

Saying that, reina has been a bit less consistent than last season so far but he still looks good.
