Reina - most clean sheets in both his season in Prem
Alosno - pure class
Agger - amazing central defender for such a young age, great potential still
Masch - pure class
Crouch - better strike rate for England than Rooney

reina's clean sheets are good yes, but as i said in another convo, id sooner win 3 or 4 -1 than win 1-0, 2-0
our style of football is much more entertaining also

dont turn this into a United vs Liverpool thread as its pointless argueing about it
We've made some bad buys, you've made some bad buys.
Youve made some great buys, we've also made some great buys (with a lower budget than you lot normally).

Zenden was free, as was more bought for cover and to be an experienced player in the squad. He also speaks a fair few languages and a lot of the youngsters coming in said he was an important part of them settling quickly.
Gonzalez wasnt as such a bad buy, as he was good in Spain, just poor over here. We still made £1.5m on him though.

Rafas buys who havent worked out...
Morientes - cant question his pedigree, just couldnt cut it
Gonzalez - had done well in spain but couldnt cut it, got rid for a profit
Nunez - not really a signing, was forced on us as part of the Owen deal
Joesmi - signed for £2m but got homesick (looked good), then straight swapped for Kompkamp who had cost them £5.5m the summer earlier, so made money on that deal.
Ermm....thats about it I think inregards to bad buys?

Plus we ship them out quickly if they don't cut it.

exactly.
Houllier had some chocking buys, but Rafa on the whole has mainly bough some great talent for reasonable prices considering we never had the budget of United or Chelsea to mess with.

Never had the budget of United or Chelsea to mess with? I'd say spending £50m this summer is up there with those two.

Never had...past tense!
The most expensive player before this summer was £14m on Cisse and £12m on Alonso. United was £30m+, and Chelsea around double ours.
So yeah, Id say we didnt have the same budget as those two

You've already spent the £50m, so that's in the past
TBH, i don't know why people bang on about tranfer funds. You have it, or you don't. If Chelsea had spend the same amount as United and Liverpool this summer everyone would be saying they're buying the title again.

Yeah, buts thats because Chelsea have already spent £300m+ on a squad so throwing £50m more at it is a lot different to us spending £50m.
Anyway, net spending is whats most important, as shows if your letting people go too not just building a massive squad...and considering we have sold over £20m of players this summer our actual spending isnt too much.

Last Sept his spending stood at £276m, including, no idea if that included Sheva or not.

I think it was summed up pretty well yesterday by one of our former players saying he needs to sort himself out and commit himself to the team.
