We are talking about remaps on a turbo diesel here, which are probably giving 30%+ increases so the insurance would prob want quite a bit.

Exactly. And just because you're guessing that 90% of CS haven't declared theirs, it doesn't make it right.

No. No it isn't. Whether they're going to raise your premium or not, you need to tell them.

Nah I probably wouldn't. You talking about a plug/play box?

All the mods are declared on my Corsa, but I wouldn't tell anyone about a remap haha.

*Edit* Presuming the map is going onto a standard looking diesel car etc etc

you simply cant grasp the concept can you. why did you tell them you had a pug? it doesnt matter what you drive if you dont tell them what you have changed. even if the price doesnt cvhange you have to declare it. i had to declare a fair bit for my renewal of things im changing and to my suprise it only went up £16 for the whole year.

because im not paying an extra bit on my insurance for a panel filter that makes a difference of like 2bhp at most. Whats the point.

Panel filters are panel filters, and normally when you buy them like i did on my corsa, it was OEM spec meaning i didnt have to declare it anyway.

I also checked with quin and they considered backboxes to have little difference and so unworthy of insurance.

On my nova i've declared and insured the engine after the other owner didnt, along with suspension and brakes.

By not insuring a crappy air filter and a back box with standard bore system (therefore OEM for the XE system) ive saved myself a little bonus
