Wow my car was smoking well in the cold weather, it's normally only like that in the mornings.

My car's all fixed

33p part later (roll pin) and 2 minutes of labour and it's all fixed and better than before

Gear selection is a lot more tighter now, it's believed the one on the old box may of been a bit worn out

So in order for your gearbox to work, it has a 33p part?

Yes, that's what it cost from Peugeot Was just a pin. I'm sure your car has them too

It's also not technically anything to do with the gearbox. It's the linkage for the gears to be selected from stick to the box.

33p sounds like a quality part

I just can't get my head around a bit, that costs 33p, that can stop a gear box working in an instant.

didnt stop it working, he still had a few gears.

On my Corsa C and B the gearlinkage had issues, I had lost pretty much all my gears due to a small rubber part which cost about 50p.

You'd be suprised how a little switch/pin/washer/bolt can completely fuck up your car.

Give it up mate?

The gearbox is fine... As the problem isn't to do with the gearbox. Hence I drove home from the meet in 3rd and 4th gear.

A selector rod's pin had come out! - so I wasn't able to select 1st, 2nd or 5th...

33p is all it costs (over priced imo) for a small pin (like a bolt) - to link the linkages together again. Must of just been some clown not putting the linkages together that well, last week when the garage fitting the gearbox.

The gearbox has no 33p parts

Ok, well, 33p part to not make the car, as a whole work properly.

I'm just amazed that such a small part can cause so much trouble, that is all

That's what I'm getting at. I can't believe how such a small, inexpensive part is needed for the car to run as a whole, perfectly.

I could fuck your car up by just disconnecting a single cheap wire to the battery

or dropping a 1p nut into your inlet.

Car wasn't fucked up completely, just the linkage (few rods that go from gearstick to outside of gearbox arms) was the problem... Kinda expected that if 1 linkage pops off, you'll not be able to select all gears. In the same way, if I take a wheel off your car your car will run like shite
