A turbo is fine after hard laps.... its the oil temp that worries me... but thats the same worry as an NA.

Decent grade oil and should be fine for hours unless you have a problem!

Richc - regardless of oil grade..... your still going to overheat it if your pushing hard with out decent oil cooler(s) etc.

I just meant - having a turbo on a track car doesnt really sit in my mind as a concern if you are sensible with it. It can cause problems with pipes blowing off etc, but easy fixes.

Oil temp and pressure are the things that concern me most on track for now.

Good job we dont have too many gauges on the Skyline or i'd be paranoid and pay them more attention than the track

How about another Skyline??
My mate is selling a minter of an R32 that would be perfect for the track(coilovers etc). Not a GTR tho,2.0 S6 single turbo.Has had a few bits upgraded aswell.Im not a fan of most R32s but id have his in a minute. And hes only wanting £2500 for it which imo,is a bargain compared to what he paid for it.

you are retarded after all... you still havent quite 'got' what i was saying. You would have been correct if you had said none of them were designed for track/race whatever. Anyway.

jesus.... give up.

You can use whatever car you want as a track car..... that doesnt mean it has to be designed as such from the factory.

i'd ignore him. Given previous writings from him, he's not the most "clued" up guy ever. Just likes writing stuff for the hell of it.

Damn, I knew I shouldn't have used that Porkie GT3 road car for the track
Or that Aston Martin
Or that Holden Commador
Or that Ford Falcon
Or that Clio Sport
Or that Ginetta
Or that Subraru Impreza Rally car
Or that Mitsu Evo Rally car

etc
etc
etc

All road cars

No,your title says "Budget track cars" in which the cars included, were road cars.

A budget track car imo, would be a car thats already been designed and made into a track car,on the cheap.

Right, so hatchbacks are off the list as it needs a bit of grunt to keep up with the skyboat on the straights? So what about kitcars? Some are quite piddly powered things, but the odd 'Busa one would give it a good go!

Well it was either that or a sofa

I dont know then pal. You dont seem to want a hatch. You dont want another skyline 'type' car due to the running costs so.... i would just keep using the skyline!

Get an early e46 330d. Eco friendly track car

richc - The skyline costs a fair bit more to run compared to an Impreza.

CorsaSport21 - bugger off out thi sthread please. You're going round in circles. I never, ever, said that the cars i fancied were 'designed' as track cars. Who cares.... piss off.... leave.... go.... just ignore this thread.

EDIT: To clear you up on things.... YOU wrote about an ITR. 'Good to see it getting used for what it was intended' ... meaning racing/on track. I (tongue in cheeck, indicated by the ) said it was designed as a road car, not a race car. If you dont get that.... give up.

Whos to say i didnt say what i did, meaning, good to see it being driven hard and making the most out of the LSD and all the effort Honda went to with the suspension etc as it cant be driven like that on the road(well not legally).

Were both being picky,arent we?

welldone.

Eck - Not sure on the old pintos. Pron a good strong engine, but I think i'd prefer a newer Zetec if i was going down that route... even a BEC over a 2.0 kitcar. BUT Fee has said NO.... so I must obey
