I work in logistics for British Gas and am also a Union Representative (should soon be going back to the Engineering side) and I genuinely like my job. I actually look forward to going into work.
I love the fact that I am having to constantly be on the ball and with the Union side of things I love defending people who have been wronged but I hate having to go into meetings with dicks. (A few months back I was the ONLY Union person prepared to go into a meeting with a disciplinee as they had been racist. I said 'I will sit there, I am not defending you, I will pull them up on anything they do wrong but you ARE going to get sacked!' Guy was a racist twat and is best off gone. I love the fact that I can actually say to people what senior management want to but are unable to do.

I love my job.
I get to play with Eurofighters all night long and a perk is, I get paid for it.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

2 mates work/worked for them, one as an electrician and another was a HGV mechanic so probably doing something mechanical with them.
Sparrows have the crane contract on the Nelson.......and they are ALWAYS breaking down!!
Why 6 months till you can go offshore?
6 month trial thing, all the cranes break down all of the time - just a bunch of rammers really!

What does what mean?
PLC - Programmable Logic Controller - Is a sort of computer that you write a algorithm (program code) into in order to perform electrical or mechanical processes.
SCADA - Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition - similar but for production control & has monitoring ability to bring everything together. We dont have SCADA we have plantscape, Honeywell PLC's and Triconet for the Fire & Gas systems.
Level meter - monitors level, informs when a critical state is reached - High level, High High (Initiate EPS) Low level.........etc
Flow meter - as above but for flow.

I run my own business doing quite a few things,
Main business is a promotions company, mostly promote my own projects and competitions but venturing into other area's including helping and advising other companies and people, I also have a design team who can design anything from a website to vehicle livery, again looking to expand that side of the business too eventually.
I've recently started internet marketing aswell although I haven't had much time what with the promotion business, I also own an adult online store.
Do I enjoy it? I absolutly love it, I get to put my own idea's into reality and see them progress. It's really early days for everything but at the moment I can see me enjoying what I do for a very long time. Also have the added bonus of waking up when I want and being able to contol my business's from my iPhone

I'm a security officer for Mitie security.
So I cover stores like M&S, Co-op and also do British gas, corus, british airway engineering plants.
Also do court security aswell on the odd occasion which is interesting.
I really do enjoy my job as I've always been a kind of upholding law kinda guy so.
