when people say 1 or 2 months do the mean

3x top line

or

3 x what you take home

or

3 x what i am left with

if the latter it shouldnt be a problem

3 x fuckall might not get a great ring though

AJ, nice way of thinking about it

High maintenance women will say 3x top line

More understanding ones will say 3x take home

The bloke will say 3x what we are left with

To be honest it shouldn't be an issue how much, if your giving something that has meaning, that is worth more than the total cost of the ring...surely ?

Technically yes.

When they want to show it off to their pals though the meaning doesn't really matter.

Is there anyway of finding out a girls ring size without saying "What ring size are you?" as I think asking that question may kinda ruin the surprise

When she takes on of her rings off(if she wears one/any) casually steal it and take it to a jewellers to see what size it is. If she says it's lost, play along then put it back in a drawer or something.

Cut one of her fingers off and take it the jewellers with you. When she thinks she has lost it just go along with it then put it back in a drawer or something.

Good on you Shane I think people get carried away and forget about the whole point that its your intentions that count, not the size of your wallet

Yep! Too many people use it as a reason to show off how much they can afford. Your misses should never know how much it cost, so as long as she likes it then job done.
