"No it’s not illegal to pay holiday days. Our company pays holiday if you haven’t taken it. Quite a few companies do it but a company can make it their policy not to pay untaken holiday which is fine as long as they have given the employee the opportunity to take it during the year. Dont think I'll be able to take the holiday and even if I did it wouldnt be when i wanted to anyway.

I doubt they would pay it over, carrying it over would assume I'm staying in this job that long to use it

its no sob story here, I just think its right to take advantage of stuff you have coming to you. I've had the last 2 weeks off and in about a weeks time I'm working from home for 2 weeks because of refurb work but that doesnt allow us to doss we still have to be tied to a desk
