Alright Mr. Pedantic, but on the MIS website you can apply for track day insurance and select the nurburgring as the track you are doing.

think it would only count if it was a track session though not the public time

Well it was never really a consideration, I've never taken out trackday insurance so this was no different. Plus you don't really think you'll crash, plus I heard the policies that were available for the ring only covered 3rd party, so in my case would have counted for nothing. But never mind, it's done now

it isnt a track day so track day insurance wouldnt cover it, you'd have to find a policy that would cover TF. Its one of them risks we all take.
