No handouts are regular help in terms of cash IMO ie paying for your son or daughters living the life they feel they deserve without earning it themselves. A car is a car.

Handout doesn't have to be regular in my opinion.
I think it's good his dad doesn't just give him a car because he has a few. If you want something you earn it.

To be given a car is a massive handout 2nd only to being given a deposit for a house!

It's still not a handout! If anything is protecting your son from not having to get in debt for a car. I'd much rather my son was out of debt and worked for his own money.
Different opinions which we could argue with till the cows come home.

I'd be taking the wrap off personally as it looks cheap.
that sounds like a completely ridiculous opinion to me.

Giving someone a car IS a handout as otherwise you'd have to save up for god knows how long for the cash or get a loan. Not having to get a loan would save you in hundreds every month so effectively a handout every month.

That is quite personal, but not for me. Its very personal for you. It shows what sort of person you are.
Just because he has cash doesn't mean I should expect anything.
He's good to me in the sense that if I NEED anything. He will help me out. More often than not in the form of a loan and I will pay him back (interest free), but if I want something, generally I have to work for it. Thats how he lived.
When he grew up he didn't have much, and anything he had, he had to work hard for. I know its a cliche, but he learnt the value of a pound. I guess he wants me to be the same.
He can be a bit grippy with cash at times, but calling him a twat is the most hypocritical comment i've seen on here.

LMAO at calling someones dad a twat for not giving him handouts and treating him like a spoilt brat
Maybe folk with money and a level head want their children to realise in life you don't get given fuck all unless you work for it. Or maybe they're all twats, you never know.

at least a deposit on a house is helping set you up for life
a car is not a necessity and is a major handout

Argee with corsa nut tbh. If i were his dad, i would be splashing out on my children. Isnt that family values sharing your wealth?
Some folk are just tight and selfish. If i have over £100,000 of cars, i would give my son/daughter something like a clio and it not break the bank, make him/her happy, and im sure they would still see the value of a pound.
But anyways thats blukoos problem not ours!
