Fresh report of a meltdown after the explosion this morning

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12720219

Reports say they are struggling to contain it.

After the Chernobyl disaster they measured high levels of radiation in sheeps wool in Scotland so it travels pretty far.

That explosion looks really bad. The expert on the video says that he doesn't think any radioactive material is involved in that blast but it could have damaged the containment. If so they will see massive rises in radiation levels very quickly.

For every "1" up its 10x stronger but you count the first as 10 I think so...
so 10x10x10x6 = 6000 times stronger I get

Fucked up Journo mumbo jumbo if you ask me.

So an 8.9 can be 8000x 'stronger' than a 6.6?

If you work in 1000's of a 1 point in a 1 in 10 point perhaps

Thinking about it not even then ffs

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12709598

It's still 8000x stronger, and its on every site I read

Isnt it all to do with how much energy is released by the plates colliding?

if you mix certain nuclear fuel with water is creates hydrogen, bet thats what caused the explosion. even if there is a meltdown modern plants are meant to contain it dont see how it didnt auto shutdown at the time of the quake though like the rest?
