TBH last year was surprisingly easy in the bmw last year, the year before it was hopeless with better tyres and less snow
Last year I put on the shittest back tyres I could find (£50 for 225/45/17) and it was very good.

Also shoguns/pajeros should be better than landrovers with their independant suspension
Do landrovers have a diff lock? Surely must do.

My Clio was great in the snow
Your m3 would of been fine on winter tyres though.
I'm ordering snow socks or chains

My mates 318 on skinny tyres was fine in snow. The wide M3 wheels/tyres and LSD cause havoc in the snow regardless of tyre choice.

I've been toying with the idea of a Jimny for a while - after owning a Mini, I reckon I could handle the gay insults
They are pretty capable tbh, and you can get quite decently specced ones, but those hold their value massively (£8k for a 3/4 y/o one!)
Some are 2WD though iirc, so you need to keep an eye out!

I just told my brother I was tinkering with the idea of getting one, he laughed, he won't laugh if I sail past him struggling in the snow
Do they tow well?
And why is there so many god damn soft tops

Only a centre diff lock. Need air lockers for every wheel to be locked.

They're all 2WD RWD for normal road use with selectable 4 high and 4 low when the going gets slippy
