say you tried to take a corner at 70mph and found you had no suspension, lost control and veered into another car/opposite caridgeway.

what if......

you should be able to but faith in suspension being up to the task of holding a cars weight

Maybe this is what Sarah A meant when she said that ollie has money and shes not finished with him yet the other week

at first i thought it was just her the usual bullshit but now its apparent this is step 1. Taking a plasma cutter to damper rods and pretending they just snapped

tathan speaks sense, and thats what i’m referring to when i say cheap materials, they use cheap steel and cheap plating techniques leading to the possibility of this happening. i have never said they will all have exactly this failure, but for me it says a lot about them that it can happen at all, TUV means nothing if your own QC isn’t up to the job in the intervals between their visits, which is why i call them cheap coilovers, and would not recommend them
as someone has mentioned lifts, lol, if a failure like this happened then there would be an investigation by the HSE, and if there was a manufacturing defect found, they would have the power to have all the same type of lifts in the country removed from service, luckily modified suspension isn’t covered under RIDDOR huh

5 minutes? took you two days! also reading that it was the first design that caused the snap, as the offset mounting pin put side loads on the damper, and they changed the design, so a little different, i still have no idea how you can say AP are anything but cheap coilovers though, and i still rate gaz above them any day

I absolutely rate gaz over Ap to and I also consider Ap a cheaper or budget coilover but I also think they are decent for what you pay. My only critism really is lack of damping adjustment.

tbh i find most kits under £1k are more or less the same thing, they make them for every car, no way could they research it for every single car, even my KW's, its all just marketing gumpf really, end of the day its a shiney shock absorber with fancy coloured springs and fancy alloys bits, thats how they justify the price. Bet inside the shock and most of the design is pretty much the same thing
