it is a lot to do with unions, im not in one and never will be. if there is ever a strike i will decide whether or not to go to work myself not because they say i should strike... also if anyone wants to complain about me crossing a picket line then they can go fuck themselves

No one is indispensable.

ps. you need a proper driving licence to drive a bin lorry, don't be so derogatory to bin men.

Theres too many public sector workers by all accounts, with the private sector in decline theres not the cash flow in tax revenue to sustain or justify the perks there on, esspecially the ones at senior manager level. The governments right to act now in hope of possibly salvaging jobs etc

The pension I get via my company has had dramatic changes twice in the past 10 years, its a sign of the times. I think if we dont just accept it & get on with it things will get worse. Give a little to gain, or at least in this instance keep your job!?

You got to be joking? Qualifications to work for the council? Every person I know that works for the council are simpletons.

Fail to see what is so hard about what these people do.

I can think of no job at all in the public sector which I couldn't do blindfolded.*

* - excluding the health service. Nurses are exempt from everything I say.

I'm going to renege in advance because I'm sure there will be some I can't do blindfolded. My opinion is mainly based on the people I used to work with, who on the whole loved to moan but didn't actually really justify their own salaries, never mind improving the conditions they were subjected to.
