I've got the 2009 Allez Sport

Just had the forks serviced on my Trek and fitted some nice Superstar grips with blue end caps, going to get a few more blue superstar components soon to match. Bleeding the brakes tomorrow then its good to go again. Can't wait to ride it again.

Should of been £2050 but one of the bike shops round here knocks the VAT off if you buy a bike in January so I got it for £1650 I'm glad I got it when I did as the 2 models since haven't looked as good, don't have as good a spec and they've gone up in price.

I swear all they do is take outdoor clothing, brand it as being for biking then double the price

right someone on here might be able to help me with this problem

my threads in my crank arms (well only the one really) are stripped

i am assuming i can just buy and replace the crank arms without replacing the whole crank set

i am fairly confident with a spanner so looking at it i am sure i could do the job myself but i am wondering if i need to get the exact same arms to replace them

i currenty have fsa alpha powerdive set up but would i be able to buy any old arms as long as they are same length and fitment?

Bike shops want a lot of money. Evans wanted something like £60 or £70 to bleed my brakes. I did it myself for £12.99 including the fluid and it took 15 minutes if that I used to take mine to them for everything but after having a go there isn't much to it. Only thing I would get them to do now is suspension servicing.

Don't have those kind of problems with a road bike though, far less to go wrong.

well i have ordered a new crankset but have since discovered this weekend in stripping it down that i need a crank puller tool and also a special socket to remove the bottom bracket ordered them but this is turning into a mare of a job for something that looked straight forward to do

also went to local bike shop on weekend and ordered myself a new hardtail - cannondale trail sl4. hopefully get my hands on it next week
