you boiled the hell out of the fluid due to heat transfer and it popped a seal I'd say. How long have you had your K sports? How long ago did you change your fluid?
k sports + fluid was brand new 2k miles ago (if that)
they get hammered a lot more without popping seals, seems weird it went then cus it really wasn't THAT extreme compared to some times..

not really, put a disc on the hob and it will glow red. put a pan of brake fluid on the hob and it will boil. fairly simple really. oh no wait

i run this fluid
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-1078-motul-rbf-660-factory-line-race-brake-fluid.aspx
Motul RBF 660 race brake fluid is suitable for all types of hydraulic actuated-brake and clutch systems requiring a high quality, dot4 non-silicone synthetic fluid.
Specially designed to resist to high temperature of racing actuated-brake (steel or carbon) and clutch systems, this quality brake fluid is particularly suitable for the demands of racing and for those requiring a very high performance brake fluid.
RBF660 also exceeds the DOT 5.1 and DOT 3 brake fluid standards, except for viscosity at - 40°C (-40°F).
RBF 660 is a 100% synthetic brake fluid from polyglycol bases.

5.1 should have a higher boiling point.
But this is a good fluid -

fluid WILL NOT cause something to break.
RBF660 is a pretty good fluid so to say 'should be using 5.1' is a bit ... er.... daft.
Like running semi slicks on track and saying 'should be running tyres'

Try driving slower and safer, especially with another person in the car. Then your brakes/eyes will probably be fine.
