I think they should ban strikes due to non-contract changes.
Would stop all this "we should get paid more, get bonuses, crap in the world at the moment"

When they strike for things like this they should get sacked. Could fill every single position the next day.

The threads on Truck Net about it are interesting. Very little sympathy from other drivers, most of whom say the job is easier and safer than a lot of other road haulage, better vehicles, no nights out, known drops with easy manoeuvring.
There's a manifesto thing from the union saying they don't want money but if you read between the lines they actually do.
There's also some H+S angle about how people aren't trained. Which they are under ADR and the same issues affect drivers of car transporters, fridges, other tankers, STGO etc.
They know they've got the country by the knackers because its full of stupid people who set fire to themselves. Ideally the PM should grow a pair and do something about it properly instead of giving out terrible advice.

anybody watch question time this week?
Lib Dem and Tories made fool of themselves about the situation, saying that the PM said to use common sense, he didn't, he said brim your tank and fill a jerry can despite the fact that no strike had been called, and still hasn't

Almost like they planned it that way with their moronic comments
The tanker drivers have zero support. All other strikes I can remember, some people supported their cause, havent heard anyone saying they agree that these self serving arseholes bringing the nation to its knees is justified because their £45k for 38hrs on their arses a week with final salary pensions isnt enough for them. Cunts

Without knowing the figures, my guess is that the tax thing is a misnomer.
Selling it all in one day and none for the rest of the week won't affect things massively.
Plus the tax returns for anyone selling fuel now won't be due until October 12 anyway.
Probably just coincidence.

Some 70 odd year old woman was spotted by the AA filling up jam jars and paint tins with plastic lids in the boot of her car. When the AA bloke questioned her she said her husband did it every week....
