An England team pressing the opposition in their own half, fantastic.

Superb atmosphere last night! Flags and flares were awesome! Should give away 15k away seats every time but time to start STRICTLY enforcing no away fans as there has been trouble at the last 4/5 games ive been at. god help us had poland scored last night!!!
IMO more away fans at all games (PL inc) would improve atmospheres no end!
also, why oh why when other teams boo us when we have the ball cant we all cheer and drown them out. pisses me off at arsenal too!

we were pretty decent tbf. they defended like their lives depended on it and lewandowski showed he has the killer touch when set free.
Hart did well
Smalling was poor, would have preferred Phil Jones or even Gibbs tbh!
Jagielka/Cahill did OK but will get exposed against the better teams
Baines was so wasteful. Perhaps it looked diff on TV but he barely ever beat the first man, goal aside
Carrick seemed wasteful also and didnt appear to dfo much but TV seems to suggest he did so fair enough
Gerrard did little, lovely goal aside, and his passing is so poor now
Townsend was superb again. Needs betetr end product and needed a RB to work with (hence suggesting Gibbs!)
Welbeck has a terrible first touch but did OK
Sturridge wants to showboat all the time instead of just doing simple stuff but did OK
Rooney was excellent throughout and nice and unselfish. Great aim on the header too
All the above aside, we laid siege to them for a lot of the time but they defended really well/in numbers and we looked understandably nervy.
The rest of the seaosn could change the squad for Brazil so muich IMO. Morrison, Townsend, Barkley etc. could all realistically claim places.
Suspect(/hope) Gerrard, Lampard and A.Cole retire after the WC to allow younger players to come through and new partnerships to be formed

I thnk its these stats as to why Carrick was rated
Michael Carrick 66 passes 94% accuracy.
Gerrard cant get a grip of midfield, just seems ot wander around most of the time

People seem to be starting the talk on SSN about Frank Lampard missing out next summer.... Thoughts? In an odd way, it would seem a bit harsh as he's done his share during the qualifiers, but I can see the argument for him not going, and possibly going.
I said, though, after Euro 2012 he shouldn't be playing for England any more, and a few others, and the younger generation should be starting to break in.
But the old adage is if the quality isn't better than Lampard coming in I suppose there's not a lot you can do.

Lampard is still a quality player as far as I am concerned. Definitely worth having in the squad at the very least.

He's a squad player definitely. Same with Gerrard, who I thought was very poor last night, could be because he was playing in a deep position, but as orbbo said, his passing was shocking.
We need to get in Barklay, Morrison, Wilshire, maybe even Berahino who's banging them in for the u21s for the friendlies coming up to see if they can push for the squad

I'd rather take Lampard based on the last few seasons, time and again he's slaughtered by everyone and then time and again he continues to come up trumps.
Gerrard, despite being world class the vast majority of his career, has completely regressed.

I'd be more concerned with the fact it's nailed on that Danny Welbeck will actually be representing England at the FIFA World Cup.

If Andy Carroll and Welbeck both go I might join the Scotch in supporting whoever England play.

So we'll not be seeded for the WC draw, which means we will be drawn against one of;
Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Switzerland, Colombia, Germany, Uruguay/Holland (most likely Uruguay as they will beat Jordan)
Wouldnt fancy any of the South American teams, think everyone will be praying for Switzerland
