I've edited my posts to remove some of the colourful language (which is standard issue on CS) seeing as we have visitors now.
I still stand by my opinion that in the grand scheme of things the Corsa guy has more to gain if he won (which he clearly isn't going to).
All this thread set out to do was try and do something nice for a total stranger, with whom we happen to have something in common with.

Not completely but it's more prestigious and double the cost of a qashqai or a sportage.
Prestigious stuff is almost always expensive as well.
JohnD, ferrari story etc. Ferrari's are pretty prestigious imo but any tom dick or harry can have one.
Thought I'd add to this, I know anyone can have a RR now, especially the poor mans bottom of the range one. It's still more prestigious than the competitors though (Macan will be equal/better but that also has better engines and is more expensive).

Yeah, only the decent diesels get built at Dagenham for JLR, not the pansy stuff. And as far as i'm aware, this will be the case for a good while yet.
They all get delivered here though before deliveries to dealerships, hence why I regularly see evoques and defenders slumming it here.
