Genuine question here.
Do people actually swim in the sea around the UK?
And, does it feel the same as abroad?

It's cleaner than most seas.
Albeit slightly colder
I was out at a place called Glendurgan on Sunday, had a quick swim.

Depends what you mean by swimming... Like proper swimming or going in an ducking about up to your tits.
I've done that in this country

Doesn't make you sound like a big shot if you like beaches in this country.
Got to be narrow minded from comfort of your armchair

It does though if you go by the correct definition of 'beach'

My next holiday is up Scotland for a week in a cottage. Going to do some hill walking and some mountain biking. Quite looking forward to it even if it will still cost about the same as my holiday to the eu last month.

Come to the cottage we're hiring. We can hold hands and sing songs beside the fire.

Ullapool is a cracking beach, Achmelvich is good.
Dornoch has a good beach too. are you doing the Applecross pass while you are up? cracking road, probably the best in the UK

Some town called Nairn. Seems quite nice. The cottage is about a minutes walk from the beach, so hopefully it'll be nice to do a bit of walking and looking at the natural beauties of Scotland.
Going to drive up to John o'groats whilst I'm there too. I've done Lands End so it was only seems fair to visit the other end.

Nairn
It's a shithole, Beach is okay on a sunny day, stop in by Dornoch beach on your way to John O'Groats if it's nice weather and you have time,
Also get a capaldi's ice cream in Brora

It's just a Base to sleep and head out from. All the good stuff in Scotland is too far away from Glasgow to go on days out to.
I've been going there 10 years and hardly explored any of it, so I'm quite happy to be able to do so this time around.

Yeah, head west or north, Glasgow/Edinburgh is too far away, Stay away from Landmark, it's a rip off.
If your wanting anywhere decent to eat out in Inverness (8-10 miles from Nairn) Give me a shout, there's a few places near by.
