Is it a Rock Shox thing? If it is, or it's similar, then there's a small allen key screw on the quick release lever side which you use to tighten up the cam.
it is rock shox yeah will have a spy for that grub screw when I give it a clean cheers!

Mine is 2x10 and I rarely use the little ring. I only go on to the small ring on really steep stuff.

Would the 11-32 rear casette be easier to pedal than a 11-36?
The front chainrings in the groupset are 26/38 so it isnt a bad range considering the rides I do.

As Jamie says, the 11-36 would be easier to pedal, personally I would think the 26 wouldbe too small a gear, you might feel like you are pedalling too much..

Mine is 2x10 and I rarely use the little ring. I only go on to the small ring on really steep stuff.
I am the same never use the small ring probably why my legs hurt after everyide for a day or so

I had a thought. If I buy that groupset, I should be able to fit everything apart from the twin chainring, as the shifters etc all work in 2 or 3 ring setups.
I use the three ring setup until I have done the long rides then swap over to the twin front chainring.
That would work, wouldn't it?

2 x 10 all the way. im a covert now. Dont notice a lack of top end and i hardly ever if at all drop off the bigger ring at the front. so just gives you a nice spread of 10 :-)

Speak to Rob @ bikeactive, he will do you a great deal on a lapierre or many other brands, tell him Liam from Stafford (he should know who it is  ) told you about him as I've bought two bikes from him and he told me to send people I know to him....
If you are set on new stuff, why XT over SLX? You could save a fortune if you went SLX and I don't think the difference in weight between the two is huge.
Are all you brakes worn out etc? It seems weird to buy all the extra parts if you don't need them, especially if you want a 514

If a zesty carbon frame in Large came up i Would go for it. Until then it's just a pipe dream

My £3000 Orange Five was bought about 12 months after I got back into biking, im probably still shit in some peoples eyes, but I don't have to justify it to anyone, my money

Has anyone looked into the leisure lake cycles VIP membership? From what I can gather you pay £30 a year and get a bit of money off everything.
You get a 'free' muc off cleaning kit they claim is worth over £30 with the membership.
Also if I had the membership, it means I'd get £30 off the new road shoes I want.
Seems to make sense to get it yet for some reason I'm still not sure

Well your money is made back on the shoes then any other savings for other stuff is a bonus, plus the muc off kit. If you are buying the shoes anyway its a no brainer?

Yeah I was going to buy the S-Works road shoes so if I can save a few quid extra here and there like you say bonus.
Also 6% cash back on Quidco for leisure lake so double most of the other bike shops that are on there!

Just because they are long rides doesn't mean you will use the big ring? I've got a triple which I dumped the top ring for a bashguard and just adjusted the limiter screw on the mech down to onto 2 speed, do dididn't really cost anything. I'm tempted to go 1x10 though in a weight saving effort
