I'm not exactly sure where it's catching gav. It's definitely rubbing on the fronts as I go over bumps (even dips in the road) and when I did around 80mph last night it sounded like the rears were rubbing. Thats withput spacers.

I'm going to take the plastic liners put and hopefully should see rub marks on them.

Looks like a different car now, quite amazing.

Thought they looked a bit wide before you fitted them, not surprised something rubs

Get Kyle to copperslip your arches imo

Wtf are you on about you moron?

It rubs because I lowered it. The guy who had them before had them on his z4 which wasn't lowered and they were fine.

Only just seen the update.

Looks great Ben. If they rubbed with me I wouldn't be bothered lol.

Very nice!

Amazing. Like everyone's said, totally transformed the car.
It rubs, so what! Get the hacksaw out and start chopping bits until it doesn't..

Eventually whatever it's rubbing on will wear away thus solving the problem
I'm sticking with 18s cba with bigger more pricey tyres

i think it's rubbing on the lip on the rear arch. it's covered in black crap and looks very close to the tyre.

stuck it in the garage for now, will sort it out at the weekend.

popped into the garage to see if i could find any remains of scrubbage.

on level ground, the fronts seem to have enough clearance:

the rears also look to have room, although the 265 wide tyre is maybe too wide:

it doesn't seem any worse than my previous set-up:

it doesn't rub on level ground whilst driving, only on bumpy surfaces once i reached 80mph or in work on the bumpy road at around 20mph.

obviously i want to be able to drive this in a normal manner, and not have to worry about rubbing issues, so hopefully it's just a case of re-moulding the rubber.

if that doesn't fix it, would you be able to roll that arch lip? i've heard it could crack the paint though.

When I stuck my hand over the top of my wheel to check my inner tyre wear I noticed there's only about 1.5 inch space before the inner arch even with spacers.
So I'm guessing it might be catching there when suspension compresses and the wheels camber in?

As Steve says, take the wheel off, look inside the arch and you should be able to see where it has been rubbing. Certainly can on my TT
