Well had a letter from insurance company yesterday telling me it was going to be 499 a month instead of 399 a month! So I phoned them up today and turns out on my liscence there is a code for dangerous driving which I didn't know about from the accident I had 3 years ago even though I didn't have any points or fine from it they still increase your insurance! Well I can't afford an extra 1500 so was going to cancel policy and they want £520 for cancellation feed which means I've paid £1000 to be insured for 2 weeks!! Pissed off is a fucking understatement! So think I will be breaking my car as I simply can't insure it and can't afford to buy another car and insure that now!!

Just put a smaller engine in it for now and refit the xe when the insurance is lower.
Generation is right though. Best idea is to find out how long the conviction is on your licence

It's an absolute joke! So basically I'm a grand down for nothing and car less! Nothing's ever easy seriously! I know that they are only on my licence until November this year, but they show up on the system for another year and insurance companies ask for the last 5 years! :/

Such a shame. But (i know you wont like this) if you had of checked everything fully before fitting the engine things would have been ok. Just a shame after all the time and effort and more importantly money thats gone into it, that you now have to break it or sell it on to someone.

Not even worth the risk! If i have an accident or get randomly stopped imagine what my insurance would be like after that! I wouldnt be able to get insured on fuck all! Probably just break it and buy a boring piece of shit!

Dont be a prat and do what these fools are suggesting. That is the WHOLE reason insurance has gone the way it has!!! Im 27 and i have to pay £500 for my 1.4 sport. To me thats a joke and ten years ago if i was 27 it would have been half that easily. If you cant afford it you cant have it. Simple

Either way think about it carefully. The amount of times I've wanted to put a sledge hammer through mine with all the money and engine problems, by selling or breaking you'll just be giving someone else perfect stuff for a fraction of the price. Keep it if u can mate

Long term it will do you a favour IMO.
There's no point skinning yourself every month, as when problem come, you'll have no money to pay for a fix, no money to go out and live your life. Unfortunatly that doesn't leave you much choice.
I wouldn't suggest not declaring it.
