also when people ask you if thats the new iphone 5, you can say yes, instead of having to look sad and say no. thats a big difference that all owners of other phones and old iphone owners are currently suffering.

I bought one friday in Essex, don't see how people are raving about them so much, really isn't much difference. Notice that its lighter and a bit quicker, but thats it, and I didn't even have a 4s, went from a 4.

Alex, the camera will be vastly better than your 4 and battery should be better. But agreed, until LTE is accesible, the differences are minor.

I'm actually considering running the 4 for a while longer, to see what the competition is like when more LTE phones are available.

Yeah camera seems decent, was at a friends wedding the other day and the pictures came out quite well I took.

Differences are very minor to me though, confused as to how some people are saying its the best phone everrrr. Definately glazed over with apple brand pride for some strange reason. End of the day its just a phone.

Ended up buying it pay as you go, had to buy another sim card for £10 which i'll never use, so that tbh really annoyed me £560 I think I paid in the end.

This. My wife is due an upgrade in November and she's on T-Mobile, so hopefully I'll make her get the S3 LTE or an HTC 4G thing.

I'll probably get a 5, but my 4 does everything I need at the moment so I'm in no rush.

The new screen is quite a bit better than the old one - compare the colours produced by it to a 4/4S and it's blacks are a lot darker too.

Screens decent, but was alright how it was, they should have made it wider if they made it bigger, its a bit too skinny imo.

Can I just get the contacts from a previous iCloud backup?

It's restored everything no problem, but then it downloaded the new facebook and its fucked my contacts up completely.

Example, before in my contacts i probably had...

"John Smith"
Home
Mob
Email

Now I have

John Smith
Photo
Facebook profile link

and its deleted numbers, it has seriously pissed me off, any way of sorting it out without inputting them one by one off my old phone. Theres 350+ so want to avoid it.

Stupid isn't it.

Works out about £20 a month for 2 years use, and probably still get £250 for it then. So when you think about it like that, it's not as stupid as it sounds.

So it's not an unusual price.

Never said it was mate. I wouldn't pay that for a non-apple phone either.
